“Make teatime a mindful moment” Many of us go through our daily routines on autopilot, barely noticing what we’re doing. An easy way to focus your attention on the present is to concentrate all your attention on simple tasks. For example, when you’re making a cup of tea (or coffee!!) pay attention to the sound of the kettle boiling, the wisps of steam coming from the spout, listen to your spoon clink against your cup as you stir your drink, feel the warmth of your mug in your hands, then rather than gulping it down, savour and taste and notice any thoughts that arise. Whenever your mind wanders into negative thoughts, gently turn your attention to what you are doing. Now go and get that kettle on ! Mines a strong builders tea please no sugar 😘😘. (I wrote this post for wellness week I ran on my fitness class pages last month so thought I’d share here )

Thanks for the reminder RunningMum.
I have had an early dinner as I have a swim lesson later - I mindfully ate my dinner: taste, texture, smell, tingly tongue, warmth, crunch, the list goes on
