Thank you Quite embarrassed about it. I had been asked a few questions about my wee road back and didn't realise this would end up happening. Ach I love running and have had so much out of it since I came back, so if my words convince even one person it's worth having a go then it's worth it.

canal canter last night, poor Laura muir, probably thinking she was out for a nice quiet run on a Wednesday night and all of sudden runs into 100 odd runners doing a 9k race. thankfully we all acted cool and ignored her :)!! she just looks so effortless. Thats so funny |

Nice one Mark, lovely story. I've been involved with many different groups and the running community are by far the most supportive and encouraging I've come across.

Kirkcaldy Parks half marathon today, a stunning day, and interesting and varied course, very well organised and the Marshall's and supporters were absolutely awesome.

Sounds great, DocM I ran the inaugural Palacerigg parkrun (Cumbernauld) yesterday. Now, I will say that I ran in tired legs, and not well, which may have coloured my opinion. But the tl/dr is for me, it's one which might make part of a nice walk instead (not during parkrun ). All trail, taking in paths which I (a sometime visitor) never even knew were in the park. Narrow slightly downhill start, so an uphill finish, to the same place. On the rolling side, maybe feeling bumpier than it is. A good bit of the route is rather stony: a good sole recommended. And even in the current weather, muddy and puddly in parts. Some in tree cover, some with open views: pleasant enough, and you rarely saw the toun . Parking was insufficient for the fairly modest 166 turnout (I squished in roadside, outside: only 250m to the briefing though.). I doubt it will be much problem going forward; my estimate is 60-80 runners/walkers per week. I'm sure that some will like it, and it's no Plean, to be sure, but I doubt that I will visit that often, despite its relative proximity. I also doubt that it will really bring parkrun to the masses in Cumbernauld, and I'm sure there are reasons it's there, and not somewhere more accessible in town, but it feels like it may be a bit of a missed opportunity. |

I should say, of course, well done to the team for managing to get any parkrun off the ground. I know how hard that can be. The RD announced before the start that it was possible due to the generosity of a private donor, and got them to cut a ribbon before the start.

Thanks for the info on Palacerigg PR Dvorak. As a 'Cumbernauldian' it's good to see one finally off the mark. And congratulations to those who worked hard to do that. Obviously good reasons why Jubilee didn't happen. And other possible venues in the town were no doubt looked at. Broadwood loch paths would be too narrow and too busy. The only other possible place would be Cumbernauld park/Glen. I'd think parking and access might have been a problem there.

Did the Tom Robb yesterday and there was loads of Cumbernauld runners, hopefully they’ll support Palacerigg.
