It has its ups and downs RooA but climbs are more gradual than steep and you have some lovely long downhills.

I've done it once and loved it and OH is already booked in for his 4th next year. Would be great to see you there 😊

Does anyone know what Inverness Half is like? Looks hilly? Not that I have much choice!
I've done it several times and always found it a quick course. One long steady uphill at 4-5 miles followed by a few miles of gentle undulation, then the compensating long downhill and several miles of flat

Once you cross the bridge for the last mile it can get tough in a headwind but there are usually quite a few people out to cheer you in.

Great atmosphere too. Everyone finishes with a lap of the track!

It's basically the Baxters 10k in reverse with extra loop added round Academy area.

I’d agree with previous comments it’s a good course and well organised event. From a logistics point of view it’s a late start (12:30?) which means you can travel on the day and not need to stay overnight. Which you might need to do if it was an earlier start as Inverness is a trip for most runners

I think I might aim to do it... sounds really good. And very doable with a late start.

Old Croc
what they all said, flat first 3, drag from 4-6, lump bits until 9, downill there then flat - bugger of a headwind all the way back to finish.

Accurate course though ;-)

How would it compare to Caithness Half, Old Croc? Better or worse?

I thought the worst bit of Caithness would be the first 4 miles but actually it was the three shorter hills after 9 miles that were tough.

Not as hilly, although I have only done Caithness finish to start!

RooA do you not fancy doing the Baxters 10k? Entries are still open and would give you a feel for the half in March.
