I thought it would be cool to have a science thread. The idea being to share cool science that you've found out about. Or maybe to ask science questions that you don't know the answer to. Or science answers that you don't know the question to. It doesn't have to be highly complex stuff, it can just be everyday stuff that you can explain with science e.g. why do we get condensation on the inside of windows? But it can also be complex stuff. Or Youtube videos you've found that talk science. Anyway... obviously I've gone blank right now, so I can't think of any science. But I bet you're brimming with the stuff. |

Great idea for a thread, Guv. If you have an interest in science then I’d suggest listening to a few podcasts: Doctor Karl’s Shirtloads of Science The Infinite Monkey Cage The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry 5Live Science There are lots of others but these are the ones I listen to and they generally do a good job of making a lot of scientific subjects accessible without dumbing them down. |

Something I really like (without any 'comedy' element) is R4's The Life Scientific with Jim Al-Khalili. I don't always listen ... but am invariably glad when I do. bbc.co.uk |

Some useful-sounding recommendations, thanks all. The only one I’ve heard of (and listened to) previously is The Infinite Monkey Cage.

iHuman. A Storyville documentary exploring the true impact of artificial intelligence on the world. I watched this Sunday, quite a lot of hyperbole, and a few leaps and statements that I cannot agree with but worth my time. bbc.co.uk |

I do like The Life Scientific, one that I've listened to in a few times is the NASA podcast (Houston, we have a podcast), not as dry as it sounds!

Shoved this on watch. I'm good with my knowledge just now. But, I'm always picking up nuggets I'll happily share.

Greg will no doubt be along soon to ask about frames of inertial reference and whether rockets go up into space or remain stationary and push the earth away.

Here's something a bit sciencey. I like that not everything NASA does has to be high tec or Cody gazzillions thedrive.com |
