Evening

Great race OO

Sorry to hear it wasn’t a good day TR

Hope the knee is ok after the fall wardi

Nice 15 OO61

Good session DT especially given your not feeling well

At the van today so 9.6 with a lap of the maravan course at low end z3 HR. Achilles not to bad but lack of power in that leg. Ran in everyday running trainers. A week to so still time for improvement.

Take it easy riggsy! You need to give your achilles the best chance to heal a lot more than you need miles at this stage.

Glad it helped OuchOuch.

Hope your knee is ok this morning Wardi.

Hope work is quiet DT19.

TR - strange that your quads and hamstrings are sore. Have you been to a physio to check out if there's something going on somewhere else like in your back that's causing it?

OuchOuch
Ah unlucky Wardi, hope it's not too bad. We now know the cure, ibuprofen gel!
TR - Fair dues. Sometimes it's best to draw a line under it.
DT - Back to Venice, a few more hours in Venice then home. Then Malaga in 4 weeks time with a big family group for my 60th!! So rest then repeat.

OO61 - Good 15m. Injuries and niggles do cloud a year.

Riggsy - Good run. Cotton wool time now.

Feel pretty good emerging from the race, no strains or pulls and the knee feels fine. Just tired from the running, travelling and disturbed sleep. Spent the afternoon walking around Verona, a very attractive city, very walkable, lovely food, lots of history, amazing roman amitheatre, roman city walls and gates. Will do a race report when get home.

Wardi - ouch. At least my fall was when running recently.......it was defo windy yday, but I can't blame that. Would have ruined folks going for pb times.

Riggsy- as you say time for more healing yet.

Ouch Ouch- looks like you came through that well. Enjoy yourself.

LMH - I've had a lot of high hammy/glute issues in last few years, as you say I think its back, sciatica related. Was ok for a long while, came back afyer the HM 6 wks ago, feared it would yday too. Back on all the things that seemed to help this week. A mix of drills, strides, weights, exercises, regular short racing all seemed to sort it out in the summer of 2023, for over a year.

Woke up hot and bothered a few times in the night and RHR was high this morning, unsurprisingly.

I'd be reaching for a covid test just to be sure. Hope you're through it quickly, whatever it is.

Morning

Sounds like your having a great time OO and have come through the race in good shape.
Hope you get to the bottom of things TR

Rest and cotton wool time as suggested. Not running today working tonight. Physio Tuesday so see how that goes and how much snow we have. Working Wednesday night so not running. May run Thursday. Still doing my exercises but they may change after tomorrow

Riggsy, hope the physio is productive tomorrow, Riggsy.

Wardi, that's dreadful luck. Hope it doesn't cause any problems.

HOw you feeling now, TR?

Ouchouch, sounds like a good trip and positive you don't feel beaten up by it, what with Malaga in a month. How many of you are going there? Is your 60th January?

Lmh, Saturday here looks awful. I do hope my sons footy is called off if that materialises.

Still a bit snotty and tired today but generally OK. Did s and c first thing, then 8m and strides lunchtime then spin tonight.

About This Thread

Maintained by TR
Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
