TT - sounds good. Hipe the reboot does the trick and you are on the mend now.
Riggsy - hope the weather is kind, its going to be wild down here.
There's defo tweaks I can make to sleep, eating better etc i struggle to sleep though and am awake a lot through the night. Eating more and better could be a focus, esp at weekends. My training isn't the best at times as its all commute based, it has tailed off a bit recently due to lack of enthusiasm from the below par racing, but I've tried to do a few key sessions a week. I guess the key point is to run less, and not do far sometimes and just do a few key runs a week. My next race is February so hopefully I'll have got going better by then. Aging is of course a factor and maybe it's as simple as the end is in sight.
LMH - I don't envy you those temps. It rained here yday and froze overnight, so i had a treacherous easy run in today. HR is still a tad high (resting and running) but I felt a bit livelier and had some enthusiasm to run.

Riggsy, glad the physio went well.
Tt, that's quite a marked change in those pics. You must have been shattered. Glad to hear things appear to have gone well yesterday.
Tr, Saturday continues to look wild here, Sunday looks ok, bit blustery but nothing crazy.
Maybe it is simply that you need a change of training stimulus to freshen things back up?
I wake through night, mainly for the toilet but seem able to get straight back to sleep.

TT - I hope it's a permanent fix. I'd love to know how you got rid of tinnitus - it's another of my afflictions.
DT19 - Derby. No thaw again today and it's not looking good until Saturday so I decided to work again tomorrow, means I can have the heating on for a bit more! Unfortunately am also working Saturday (when a run next looks possible safely) but I'd committed to that before the cold snap. Looks as though Sunday will be my next run but I'm not at all stressed about that which probably means it's not a bad thing. Are you feeling better?
Glad the physio was supportive of you racing on Sunday riggys.
I think you've been flogging yourself for a long time TR. I don't believe in junk miles (to me all miles are good) but I don't do sessions so I could see how focussing on the key sessions for a few weeks and maybe filling in with the turbo if you feel the need to do something might work for you. My sleep has been pants for years.

Riggsy, night working and varying shifts is well known as ruining any sleep pattern so little surprise to hear that.
Lmh, I'm not sure I'd count Saturday as a good running day. I'd prefer the cold to what is currently forecast. I've done the Derby 10m a couple of times, that's my only experience of the town.
Yes I seem to be OK today in the main.
Relatively light session for me at lunchtime in terms of volume. 1k- 3 min walk- 5 x 2 min off 2 min walk- 1k- 3 min walk- 3 x 60s. Personally much prefer longer continuous sessions. 9m with wu and cd.
10 days straight of running so day off tomorrow.

I meant that Saturday is forecast to be warm enough to melt the compacted ice and snow. The wind and rain aren't very conducive.

Riggsy - Hopefully you'll miss the worse of the weather.
DT - you have a race soon?
LMH - I need to try to fit a balance of runs in as commutes, probably with a bit less on some days.
We have 50 mph winds and rain saturday and Sunday, luckily no pressure to run long or race.

Tr, 10m race 2 weeks Sunday. This felt more like a taper session however. I think it's deliberately light as last week was a step up in miles and had 3 reasonably tough sessions.

Pretty wild up here too Sat/Sun/Mon. Only consolation is the temps are going to creep up. Best of luck with your race conditions Riggys.
LMH.. I've had a mild form of tinnitus for about 3 years. Mine is low pitched drumming noise when I close my eyes. It has slowly improved so not the nuisance it once was.
TT.. really pleased for you, a very encouraging result. I hope the good news re. your heart continues.
TR. re. decline. One of the old sages in my club reckoned every club runner has 10-12 years at their peak before the times start to tail off. That is pretty accurate in most cases IME but there will always be exceptions. Hope you can find a decent balance of training to keep your current standard up.
Cold but bone dry this morning so put a couple of layers on (still in shorts here!) and trotted out 10.5m. The sun came out at half way which was a bonus.
