Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi Derby Tup. The operation went well and the catheter is coming out tomorrow. Stomach is quite sore from the keyhole surgery. GP follow-up on Friday with PSA and urology appointments on the horizon.

How do you find the catheter? I had a mare when I had my bladder looked at, first time after my op, not a problem.

Catheter was surprisingly OK. As I have no need to go out, I kept the night bag with me rather than switching it to the leg back. I found that the leg one filled up too quickly and I had to keep pulling it back up.

Originally, I was concerned about sleeping on my back as I tend to only drop off on my side. Thankfully, I am on dihydrocodeine which is knocking me out.

Sounds like you’re doing well Phil. Good news! I had keyhole for my first op and it’s surprising how painful what look like small incisions are

Yeah, that sounds good. My last one caused all sorts of contractions and general discomfort, not a good week, was very happy when it went....

Be careful coming off the codeine. You need to taper off. I went cold turkey and ended up with diarrhoea for nearly a week :-O Not ideal when you’ve had half your rectum removed

Thanks for the advice. I have eight tablets left, so I could look at taking two a day until I speak to my GP.

Maybe consider breaking them in half if you can to make them go further and ease off them slowly

I had forty metal staples in my abdomen and thought I was being clever making sure I had a full tablet left for the day they were to be removed
