Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve recently got Inov8 Parkclaw as they are for trail and road. I’ve used them a few times for mixed terrain runs and have liked them.

Consider old-school cross-country shoes as a neutral alternative. Way cheaper don’t bother with the spikes.

Nice to see you back! I’m a parkclaw fan too but if Ghosts were your go to shoe then they’re probably still fine

The Ghosts sound like a good price, RevBarbaraG. The last time I bought the New Balance shoes I mentioned they were £150. Yes running shoes have really gone up in price recently.

I believe the Ghost has a big drop (i.e., heel to forefoot height difference). Be careful not to get too much of a big change if you go for a more trailish shoe, many of which have a lot smaller difference.

I’m in the market for a new pair of shoes. Returning to running after a loooong break. It will be a small part of an overall exercise regime which includes strength training in the gym, swimming, Pilates and functional fitness classes. So I doubt I’ll be running more than a couple of times a week, or more than a few miles. Unless I decide I am going to train for that 10K next May, that is.

I feel I should know the answer to this, but: if I’m going to be running both on and off road, ho...
