Maybe worth sucking it up on price with your local running shop one time. Try a few on, buy the ones you like the best. When the time comes to re-buy, at least you know what you need and can shop around for best price.

If you won't use your local running shop, it will cease to exist. And then it will be even harder to find the right shoes.

I had bad foot problems for many years. I have very flat feet and wore motion control running shoes which was advised for people with flat feet. After almost a year of not running in 2012 I started running in Skechers running shoes. Albeit I reduced the miles I ran greatly, fingers crossed I have not had any further foot problems. However I am finding the latest versions don't suit me any more. I do have a few pairs on the go but they won't last for ever. Inspired by Velociprocator who...
