Phelps had a number of incidents but in contrast he admitted his actions, apologised and was very contrite overall (better advisers?), plus he was younger. Lochte on the other hand didn't fully admit his actions even when it started to be very clear he'd lied (he admitted to being 'less than candid'). Doesn't take a genius to know that sponsors run a mile from this sort of stuff. He is nearing the end of his shelf life for some sponsors but sports stars in the twilight of their career start picking up other endorsements, food products, cars and all sorts, particularly in the US - I can't see many of those coming his way now. Idiot. ....Anyway, I'm on a big Olympic come down now, really missing it!

I would have thought sponsorship deals and endorsements would be more important after your career - where else will the cash come from?

Little Nemo - this kitten can
No sympathy for Lochte, he's a grown up and should know better. He behaved badly in the first place and tried to weasel his way out of it.

Meglet
There was an interesting commentary piece from someone who's seen his reality show. The gist was that he's an immature mummy's boy who hasn't got a clue about life outside swimming.

I'm guessing Lochte has had people running around after him all his life so I guessed thought he could wiggle out of this or someone would jump in to help him get off the hook. On the pics they showed on the news they looked like a bunch of pretentious frat boys causing problems - which I guess they are in one way.

Too Much Water
Team GB arrive back, with perfect timing BA (desperate for some good news after a lot of recent bad publicity) try and piggyback on to the positive coverage of our Olympians to launch a sale!

They have all tried to embrace the Olympics. I got an email from Ernest Jones trying to flog me watches to match the colours of the Olympic Rings.
