TRO Saracen
Crikey Cheg, no Jason Kenny!
A golf major winner, a Tour De France winner and reps from an England rugby team that won the Grand Slam and 3-0 away in Australia not represented. Times are indeed good, in the old days we'd give it to someone who showed a good stiff upper lip after coming second!
I'd give it to Mo, with 2nd Whitlock and 3rd Brownlee.

Coach of the year. Eddie Jones.
(Or Shane Sutton. Or Jama Aden...)

Give it to all of them as Team GB. They all did a great job out there regardless of whether they got gold, silver, bronze or missed out. Compared to the overpaid and over thought of waste of space footballers in this country, they all made me proud to be British.

The problem with a legacy is that it takes more than just having role models to keep it alive.
For every person inspired to take up an activity there's 3 more who'd like to but just don't have the time/money/inclination to move off the sofa (that's me 😊).
It doesn't mean that investing in sport is wrong or a waste of money, it's just that they have to stop seeing it as the single factor in getting people more active. Sport still provides better role models, more motivation and better quality television than it would if we weren't doing well at things such as the Olympics and were reduced to watching Coronation St or X-Factor and the likes.
As for spending the money on something better, let's face it, that money would be spent on more government vanity projects and wouldn't be seen anywhere near a hospital, just like all our other money. We may as well spend it better than that and invest in individuals that aren't big business owners in London.

The team of the year has to Leicester City though 😜 What they did will probably never be done again.

It's been a stellar year for British sport again, the days when second place could win you SPOTY are long gone.

Jambomo - someone will win the premier league every year! Football is probably too tribal for teams / individuals to win it regularly

I think Jambomo meant a big underdog winning the premier league again.
