Sharkie
Hi LD - was the interview with Cav on the Today prog? Normally I would have heard it but I was ....asleep!

I would like my (probably way off the beam) view of him to be challenged.

For some reason I have an attachment to Jade Jones. In 2012, like most, at the start of that day I had never heard of her. Ended up spending the day following the whole competition and cheering like a nutter when she won. Have spent the following years following her progress at the World's etc and getting a (very) basic understanding of the sport. I earmarked last night as the one night I had to stay up, but sadly fell asleep and missed the final having seen all her earlier bouts. Glad she retained the title.

I'm exhausted after another night of late night (early morning watching). To make sure I don't miss anything I have been setting alarms for a minute before each event is due to start as I missed the 800m the other night as I fell asleep during the coverage. It's bene great though and I'vee seen some amazing sporting achievements.

Really great to see the badminton guys get a bronze - they played out of their skin to secure the bronze.

I've seen Jade Jones this time round and she just seems far better than the opposition, it's not even close, she seems to be the only one who regularly gets the 3 point head kicks. Those fighters are incredibly fit and strong, I can't hop like that for long at all!

She is very good at getting in front, generally, and then making the opponent panic as they try and catch up. The Swedish girl in the semi-final was actually making a good fist of it, but then just lost it a bit and Jones did what she needed to do.

And yeah, the fitness and balance is pretty amazing.

I think it was just before 8am Sharkie but maybe it was just after...I'd just got out of the shower, if that helps ;-)

Really feel for Gemili. He must be gutted but he did seem to tire in the last few metres.

I'm in London so Raffo has also alerted me to it, thanks LD.

Gemili is a wonderful sprinter and a real Good Lad. In sprint terms he's still pretty new - he came to the sport via football rather than up through an athletic club, he will still improve. I love him, he's an absolute advert for the new breed of (British) sprinters and athletics in general.

Cheg
Bit of a controversial view over here. Muhammad Vs Cook if they duked it out in the final of the Taekwondo I would be torn who to support.
