The forecast for Tring is sunny intervals, 17 high, 9 low, 58% humidity. Which all sounds about ideal for late August to me.

O - there was loads of rain on Friday and Saturday yet the course on Sunday was really not too bad, there were a few v short sections of mud which I walked but it wasnt deep and there were some v big puddles but they could be tip toed around so I recon you should be ok cos the rain will be going onto very dry ground.

Fingers crossed. I wouldn't mind a bit of mud, just no ankle deep bogs, please.

I'll be wearing the same gear as I wore on the overnight section of the GUCR Sarah, it worked fine for me then & should be ok for the ridgeway:)

Yeah I don't think it'll get *too* cold. I'm usually OK to avoid changing clothes as long as it doesn't get much below 10 degrees, but I'll have a long sleeved top with me in case it gets too cool. I'm wary of carrying too much with me, though, since I'm unsupported and will have it all on my back.
I just had a vision of the Fellsman last year where it was *freezing*, windy and wet and I was extremely grateful to have a set of winter kit with me after my knees turned blue!
