Our Morrisons has paper bags for mushrooms. Interesting about the bring your own container for meat - but we don't eat meat any more.

Just want to ask a question about the Lush shampoo bars, I have long hair, classic combo of greasy roots and broken ends. All of their bars talk about oils and moisturising etc but I feel like that's the last thing I need!
I know that normal shampoo strips the natural oils, causing you to produce more and your hair becomes greasy again quickly.
Is there a period of adjustment?
I have asked my friend who uses Lush bars already, but a) she hasn't responded yet and b) has drier, more damaged hair than me in the first place.

Ta!

I was just talking to a friend about the Lush bars yesterday. I am very allergic to the ones I tried and have had to stop using them. My friend was saying they are actually worse than normal shampoos for sodium lauryl sulfates etc. This does not surprise me given how much lather I got from the one tried. I would imagine it would strip the grease in the same way as bottled shampoo.

Cackleberry, your hair sounds like mine. It took me a long time (many weeks) to adjust to shampoo bars and six months on the only one I can find that makes my hair even vaguely like it used to be is the Lush honey one.
Lush ones lather really well unlike shampoo bars without SLS.
I rarely use a conditioner bar, the Lush ones don't really do anything.

I've also started using jojoba oil on the ends which helps a bit.

My hair is long and very curly, roots get greasy very easily and ends are a mass of dry frizz.

I rarely shampoo my hair any more. Only rinse it with water in the shower. I do brush it a lot (it's very long and fine) to spread the oil along the hair.

It takes a few weeks to get past the greasy stage but I wear it braided most of the time, so it's not hugely evident.

The brushing and spreading of the oils means conditioner isn't required...the natural hair oil is doing that job. The lack of shampooing means the oils aren't being stripped from the hair.

I'm waiting for our local Fetch maker of plastic free shampoo and soap bars to go into business. (Lush shops make me sneeze from outside the door so their products are off any list I might make.)

I'm having really good results with bicarb of soda and a vinegar rinse.
