Mine was 1985 - JL Carr: The Battle of Pollocks Crossing. I quite enjoyed it - im not counting any book i outright disliked in my version of the rules - it felt a bit derivative but I still both enjoyed it and remember it

I was in town today. Secondhand book shop. Bought one about the eology, archaeology and history around Silbury Hill and Avebury, Bill Bryson's The Body, plus a book about spinners in cricket, didn't check any year .
