Race entry fee - what price a 10k?

Costs were £8 attached and £10 unattached. Just had a note from a member saying " see we've joined the greedy clubs charging ridiculous amounts". Is £8 a ridiculous amount for a 10k with medals, water stop and refreshments afterwards? Or should we just run at a loss?
