Gaudu is indeed interesting. I think to some extent he's been hidden by all the hype directed toward Pinot and Demare in the team, but has quietly been creeping upward for a while. He's taken a couple of decent wins lately (including a cheeky pipping of WVA), but I actually wouldn't be that surprised if he podiumed.

It's that final time trial which may be his undoing tho...

Yeah, unfortunately pretty much everyone needs to outclimb Pogacar. Roglic could beat Pogacar in a straight TT but end of GT is a bit different, Thomas as well maybe? Not sure anyone else gets close.

wFH tomorrow, only two meetings and both in the morning. Meanwhile live stage with a summit finish on the telly. I better get my work done early. Only problem is I need to either run before work or at lunchtime as no chance after work (aka watching the tour) |

MVDP isn't having fun. You forget that the double is hard not just for GC riders but for anyone that wants to attack a lot. Add to that the fact the Giro was his first complete GT and it makes sense. velonews.com |

Seen Roglic at the back a couple of times today (possibly collecting bottles but not a job you'd normally expect him to do) and in this interview before the start he said, "I'm really damaged, I have a lot of pain. I'm not here to cry but fight and do my best" twitter.com |

Ineos disappear as they hit the climb so guess it was protection job.

Team might get the stage as a consolation prize.
