Carthy up to podium positions... but 3.40 down, but neither him or Caruso pose a serious threat to Bernal. Taking rain cape off on cobbles was probably a greater risk...

I just wasnt convinced he was fit and Yates has been looking good. The surprise for me was how poor Almeida has been.

Had not realised (the perils of trying to watch a 3 week race in the highlights only) that 6 of the starting 8 Lotto-Soudal riders had abandoned over the course of the past couple of weeks.

de Gendt today was the 6th and didn't earn me enough points...

Wow, carnage across the weekend and today.
Bernal proving to Sir DB that his back is fine so send me to the Tour please, not going to happen.
Felt for Tratnik having to weave up the Zoncolan. Last cyclist I saw live having to do that was Chris Newton trying to match that well known Biochemist Rumsas up Constitution Hill in the ToB in the 90s.

The old saying "the riders make the race" never more true today. Who knows how it would have panned out but I doubt such attacking would have been seen if the original stage had run.
