Damn:-(

Getting back on thread subject, I am delving into running with hurraches ( 6mm) and barefoot. Is this a good way of training to maintain an efficient running action?

I toyed with the idea of Hurraches, but decided I couldnt cope with excplaining to folk why I'm wearing them. Also can't be doing with the general public gibbering on about it. When I ran barefoot roung my estate I got a lot of stick, so I ran round the posher areas. Got a lot of stick. Then I saw my wife and our two dogs. Got a lot of stick.

I settled for some really low progfle NBs (Vibram things) - very good. But you still get runners asking questions...

UD, I thought everyone always said you had to correct the running action first, *then* go barefoot or minimalist. Not the other way round. Recipe for serious injury?

There's a middle ground, I suppose. Better form, more minimal shoes and some kind of virtuous circle that the less built up shoes help to improve your form? I dunno! I fancy some really minimal shoes, but without the 5 toes that my Vibrams have. They are just too comical! :-)G

And completely barefoot, I only run around a grass park or grass track, so I don't get any daft comments because there are fewer/no other people there. Problem solved BVRB. :-)G

The chance of puncture injuries barefoot is really high, quite a few local runners gone barefoot and now several have gone injured with bad puncture wounds. I pulled a 2 centimeter long thorn out of the sole of my runners the other day, which was lucky hadn't gone through into my foot.

Happy.

Yes you are indeed correct and a transition has to take place. I don't or won't allow outside influences in my own objectives!

Chrisull- 2 centimeter would have gone through anything.

Hi runfree- Dead right on stares, but stares are there if you are running at all...... but in Kenya ............:-)
