You can only hope that it affects all the complete morons who voted for him more than anyone else. Or to the exclusion of anyone who didn't vote for him. Unfortunately, that won't be the case. But you can hope. |

Chrisull wrote: Here's the announcement from Canada last year of 1.3 billion to beef up border forces. canada.ca They restated the same announcement yesterday. They announced nothing new, the media are muppets. Trump threatens tariffs, Canada just holds up something it's already done, Trump acquiesces, but claims victory to his MAGAt supporters. This is what he did 4 years ago over and over again. As one person said - "watch what he does, not what says" Rather amazing and ironic how all the "fake news MAGAs" hang on every word as utter gospel. Personally, I'm finding it harder and harder to believe and single word you read almost anywhere on the internet. Perhaps it's as I grow older and more cynical, but even respected newspapers aren't worth the paper they're written on these days. |

Johnny Blaze wrote: That 18% drop in the Tesla sales in the UK is disappointing. Try harder. Handily enough we have a big Tesla dealer about a mile away. I will watch its progress with interest. No idea why or where it's come from, but our 6-year-old is utterly fascinated by Teslas. That and lamborghinis, plus now Bugattis. |

He's a mobster, and mobsters run their businesses on bullying, intimidation and fear. The big differences this time are: He knows he can't be held to account He and his minions are more organised The adults in the room have been replaced by criminals, drunks, abusive males and morally debased chancers, whose only qualifications are unswerving loyalty and a willingness to inflict cruelty on their fellow citizens. |

I am not sure he has tanked the stockmarket if you factor in the gains since the election - markets are still quite healthily up

The market has risen since knowing Trump was coming to power. Very little he does in these first few weeks will not already be factored into the market in some way. Even if he's caused blips so far (and blips happen all the time) he's no Liz Truss!

"Very little he does in these first few weeks will not already be factored into the market in some way." That's assuming that what he does was accurately predicted by the market. Which seems a bit far-fetched. Not just the general sense of chaos but the specific market-impacting decisions. |

So am I one of the morons who heard the news headline "Mexico commits additional forces to clamp down on illegal people and drug smuggling", believed it was new and hence attributed it to Trump's bullying anti-diplomacy? ![]() |
