I wasn't sure about the criminal convictions, though I did think that an 12-month + sentence stopped him. Secondly, his bankruptcy may also. |

Bankruptcy definitely does (as does being a member of the police, armed forces, civil service). Prison sentence of 12+ months only does for the duration of the sentence.

Of course, the overall effect of all this is to allow Farage to be positioned by the UK media as the 'reasonable' figure in opposition to people like Yaxley-Lennnon.

& this is what's wrong, some very rich guy who has no legitimate say in the UK governance is dominating the news cycle & sapping resource & energy away from the actual serious business of running the country, he should be at best a side bar - billionaire squabbles with fringe party. I have to ask id Musk real or Kremlin bot? For the record I think perhaps there should be an inquiry re grooming gangs, as long as it encompasses the COE, FA, etc etc |
