I suspect Musk's vision for Reform isn't built around Farage. If they want real power, they need Boris Johnson as leader. Trump's people have links to Farage and Johnson, and I suspect they would see one as more capable of winning floating voters than the others. Both use the same playbook (taking back control and opposing elites by having strong connections to rich Americans pulling their strings) and that's the game I suspect is being played here.

Mandelson as US ambassador. Head in hands. Epstein's close buddy, (and not adverse to hanging around Russian oligarchs) sacked twice and really a good reason never to vote Labour again. Has his own eponym "Mandelsonian", which he must have paid the NY Times to give a good definition, but really means devious, dishonest, vacuous and empty. Spends his time attacking workers rights ier.org.uk |

It feels like a terrible pick to me, and not just because he was on my "list" in the Blair Years. However... given the likely binfire shitshow of the next Trump term, perhaps a devious shitbag isn't too bad of a pick to navigate the minefield. |

There’s possibly quite a short list of people prepared to lick Trump’s arse. Did anyone here apply for the job?

You'd think they'd at least pick someone on the Sex Offenders Register. Just to fit in, like.
