Labour came third in Clacton, seems very unlikely that enough people have had a Damascus type conversion and want Farage out now. I expect Trump winning is helpful to the likes of him as well. en.m.wikipedia.org |

Yes, that was the data I was initially using (quickly). Still looks like Farage land the highest wanting another election. Hardly a surprise but Labour areas less likely to have signed the petition though intriguingly some of the red wall doesn't appear to be as happy as the Midlands, southern and London Labour areas.

I suppose the only worrying thing is how easily the lunatic reform base can mobiles themselves to do something like this which gains publicity. It shouldn't surprise anyone that someone who recently voted Reform would be perfectly happy to support a new election.

There was at least two ‘general election now’ petitions from 2019-2024. There were just as pointless…..

Yet the BBC didn’t give those wall-to-wall coverage, which I presume will come as a big surprise to anyone naive enough to think they are balanced.

Just in case it wasn't clear, I was presuming that the Government website wouldn't accept a petition on Farage. I've not checked what other petitions get through but it does look like they have some kind of vetting process. Change petition a bit of fun and if gets loads it will be amusing. I just think there's more people that would be ok with Farage as PM than we realise/ care to admit. The question really is how we change that. If Labour deliver, maybe it doesn't matter but if people want change in 5 years time, will they be prepared to turn to him? I'm sure Trump gives him some hope of doing that somehow. |
