Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Louise Haigh, who had been passionately pro public transport and pro worker and seemed committed to her transport brief, has resigned.

To do with a historic thing when she was mugged and she thought she lost her mobile but then didn’t. Suspect this has been backchanneled to team Starmer by someone, she was unhappy about the 50% rise in bus fares and her statement on P&O

She resigned because the press got hold of it

I’m sure all the Starmer Stans are delighted to see the promise of a crackdown on immigration. I’d call it a lurch to the right but it isn’t at all, it’s exactly what he was campaigning on. The lurch was years ago and they were all fully behind it.

Well on the plus side at least Haigh resigned, rather than Tory style pretending they'd done nothing wrong and brazening it out. It's a sign that standards had sunken so low that I was slightly surprised a minister resigned when something like that came out.

Can’t wait for the JB take on this, he’s the biggest Keir Stormfront fan around here I think.

The haigh thing is weird. On one hand it’s much ado about nothing but the whole story doesn’t quite add up but it’s hard to understand why or what’s being hidden

Contrast that with Michael matheson who actually did commit fraud snd he is hanging on and being supported by his leaders.

Put like that Chris is definitely an upswing in behaviour.

I'm quite there are those will make out it was the plan all along.
