The BBC mentioned that Tel Aviv fans were also causing trouble at 10:15 and 10:44 in the article linked above.

On the deportation thing, it’s worth remembering that loads of regular immigrants and citizens have “illegal” family members of some sort. And some proportion of them won’t even know it…

Dutch King Willem-Alexander expressed "We failed the Jewish community of the Netherlands during the Second World War and last night we failed again."

Comparing last night to the murder of 6million Jews, as I suggested before, is just an insult.

@larkim - I'm a football fan, I've even been attacked by hooligans when walking back to my car, I know when my own team causes trouble, and it's pretty ease to see from the video.

And I'm not condoning the Ajax fans attacking back it's definitely both sides are to blame, but they always were going to.

Booing through silence is really one good way of riling supporters. Birmingham City centre was smashed up by Wolves and England ultras a few years back in punishment for Birmingham fans not being sufficiently respectful at an England match (booing a Villa player was the crime I seem to recall). Turns out there was at least one IDF member in the "innocent" fans. Make of that what you will.

(and the caveating by the BBC didn't occur in the original report, they've added the clarification since - as pointed out).

On US election - more interesting facts.

I was wrong about Democrats staying home.

They didn't, the long vote count means the numbers weren't all there. Looking much closder now. Harris actually pulled in more voters in Wisconsin, in Georgia than Biden did in 2020. Problem was Trump pulled in more as well. Harris's numbers may have beaten Trump's 2020 numbers... (I'd have to get the whole map out to check, I'm not going to, but I think she would have taken Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Nevada which would have been enough)

The Maccabi fans tried to throw their weight about attacking anti-genocide protesters & Palestine supporters and got slapped about. Now they’re crying anti-semitism, hilarious.

My experience of risk supporters at football games is ‘any excuse’. I’m not saying the violence isn’t antisemitism, there’s no excuse for it, but a lot of them will start something if you fart in the wrong key.

It usually doesn’t escalate to those levels though.

Jenrick is calling for European citizens to be deported because of the colour of their skin. Shows how racist the tories are
