"Opportunist, populist MP declines to give a single shiny shit about the people he conned into voting for him." That's the tweet. |

Tweet? Should be skeet! I have now largely abandoned Xitter and moved to Bluesky. The vast majority of the people I follow are there now. Just missing news and officialdom. They'll be there soon enough and a tipping point will be reached, at which point Xitter will go into rapid decline and just become Truth Social in a different format.

I bombed out of Twitter when Musky took over. I think it's now degraded to the point where membership is effectively propping up a RW neo-fascist, oligarchic agenda. I urge all persons to delete their accounts.

To be honest, I rarely see any RW stuff on Twitter, other than LW comentators pillorying it. Though some on this thread might say I'm so far away from being LW that I can't reasonably commentate on what I'm seeing... I can't be bothered jumping ship as I only really got into Xwitter in the last 2 years. On Farage, he was saying yesterday that the Speaker's Office had advised him not to hold face to face constituency surgeries. Wonder how true that is, as it seems easily disprovable? |

Apparently that's true for Biden. He is not appearing in public because of fears of likely attack. Obviously he is quite frail too, so possibly suits him not to be in public so much. Horrible thought though that you are afraid to go outside for fear of being attacked.

Doesn't seem unreasonable - he would probably need airport style security and an escort in and out of the building and so on.

I wonder where the atmosphere of violence in US politics could possibly have originated? Surely not the man who incited an attack on the peaceful transition of power and who now sees Congress and the police as "the other side"?

I saw that clip from, I think, LBC,yesterday on Twitter. He didn’t actually appear to give that answer until prompted by the interviewer. Before then he appeared to be floundering around for a good story to tell. |
