Also why Brexit was such a shit idea - high complexity for virtually no real return. You would think a Conservative Party stuffed with members of the "business class" would have understood that. Unfortunately most of them couldn't see the consequences of their actions coming if they had the Hubble Telescope in their hand.

Take away the administrative burden. UBI for all is the answer, UBI can go up to cover increasing base costs, Income Tax can go up so that it becomes neutral at a certain earnings level, say £45k. |

What is going on with the young? Every single day there seems to be some new attack, a stabbing, beating an 80 year-old to death while he walks his dog. Is it: - This has always happened it is just reported more. - I have just been blissfully ignorant and again this has always happened. - The next generation are feral and the countries going to the dogs. - The glamorising of violence and film and media has led them to mimic that behaviour. - Knife violence is an American import, gun violence will soon follow. - Kids belief that they can do as they please with little to no punishment. - A societal breakdown, that the public don't feel a sense of community, and don't intervene when they see things happening. - Something else. |

Cheg is that the 5 12-14 year olds who killed an 80 yr old man walking his dog in a park? I don't know the details, but the initial report sounded awful. Was it knife? The report I just saw said "assaulted".

Yeah that was the story. Yeah I don’t believe it was knife. Beaten to death I’d imagine. The police had previous contact with the victim, presumably a report of intimidation or threats prior.

I’m from 30 miles outside of London, but near enough for these purposes I suppose.

I don’t think that youth violence is particularly going up but am surprised that it isn’t, they way they have been treated.
