Yes, saw that one too. It's the usual activity of seeing bias when it suits, and ignoring the same sort of language when it's on the other side. So larks how do you think the "Congratulations, I suppose" from Laura K to Ed Davey clip is meant to be construed? I mean he has a record number of mps outstripping Ashdown and Kennedy. What possible reason for the "I suppose" other than a grudging admittance that she's not very impressed. |

As predicted the wing nuts refuse to accept they had any role in their party's many failures.

He should have picked her up on it. “What do you mean by I suppose?” would have been a great response. She’s certainly gone down in my estimation. |

It'd be hilarious if she really were expelled.

What possible reason for the "I suppose" other than a grudging admittance that she's not very impressed. I think she simply plays a role. That was no different than a Paxman opening to put him on a back foot as opposed to joining in with the celebration. Is it not equally "biased" to say "Well done on a spectacular performance"? We need to desensitise and not obsess over throw away phrases which don't impact the substance. Substantively, there are issues of how the BBC ensures balance (i.e. the "Farage" factor, or bringing in climate change deniers to rebut science) which it doesn't always get right, but whether LK uses a phrase in a particular way is something which manages to go direct to the periphery of an issue. |

He should have just responded "Thank you, I suppose".

There is no substance, larkim. It's just politics, all they have is words. Some refuk racist calling Sunak a p*** is just words, don't be so sensitive?
