Not a single mention about destitution in the UK increasing? No. Not when we can debate an ex-politician passing a driving test.

Shut up, it's The Will of the People. It will be better in 50 years, maybe. |

Not a single mention about destitution in the UK increasing? No. Not when we can debate an ex-politician passing a driving test. Almost 50 years of neoliberalism what do you expect Meanwhile clearly a successful Labour conference for the lobbyists employed by asset management companies who hoard rural land. Labour clearly doesn’t care about rural England either. theguardian.com |

Despite SN's zorbaesque post just dropping in to criticise the entire thread for not discussing something while not actually contributing, the rise in destitution has slipped off the front of websites and never even made the front page of most papers. Clearly, Gaza dominates, if you want to see a rapid rise in people suffering look no further, and it looks like Israels' fury at the UN for suggesting they don't actually have carte blanche to kill people will be the theme, but UK destitution shouldn't be shuffled away in favour of bollocks about all UK space mission (BBC) or a Chinese brewery worker pissing in a Vat (guardian) it's the sort of thing the front pages should scream about. But the poor dune buy papers |

Zorbaesque? Really? My contribution is clear. On a day a devastating report was published about levels of destitution rising in one of the richest countries in the world the primary debate on this thread is about someone passing a driving test. |

Zorba would have started his post "Wee Nippy* and continued with a string of words that made little or no sense.

Indeed. Ad hominem attacks on Sturgeon are his forte. However, it doesn't do to criticise 'the entire thread'. I just thought there may have been some anger about this but we seem to have become desensitised to the spectacular failure of our system for around 4 million of our fellow citizens. On two other points: investigations continue into allegations of fraud in the SNP. I assume that people are innocent until proven otherwise (or even charged) with offences. Also the Union is not 400 years old. Yours, in pedantry. |

I'm also surprised that noone has made the observation that Nicolas will at.least.be able to drive that campervan now. Or is that a wee bit too parochial for this thread? |

That was actually the first point till we got diverted by whether Sturgeon passing her test at 53 was a bad/ odd thing (which no one agreed with btw).
