Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Parliamentary democracy: as long as the PM can command a majority in the HoC they are legitimate.

If all the Tory MPs who plan to leave office at the next election did a mass resignation that might do the trick. Won’t happen though

But who do they go to as a unity candidate. The right and left of the party have trashed each other over the last few years, with Brexit in the middle of that too. Add in "red wall" and "compassionate conservatives" and it's simply not possible to find a unity candidate.

None of them are going to shut up, and all of them are going to feel emboldened to demand "their" flavour of conservatism to be the agenda for the govt.

It's very environmentally irresponsible that the government keep using single-use ministers..

The next PM will have to be a clean skin, who commands the respect of all parts of the Tory Party.

Step forward Michael Fabricant. Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

If she hadn't further fucked every ordinary person in the country by insisting she and her ideology knew best in the face of massive evidence to the contrary, I'd feel sorry for her.

Well said.

Is Penny Mordaunt respected by all the factions? One Nation tories seem to like her and she was one of the faces of the leave campaign so ERG will like her. I imagine it will be here as sunak won't bring them together.

It's ironic isn't it. Cameron started all this with the referendum in an attempt to unite the party and end its arguing over Europe. Look at the party now

Penny mordant is another rabid fascist. Just cos she’s not said much recently doesn’t make her a unity candidate.
