Lol McGoohan! Mr Lemon told me this morning there was a new thread about the Lake District (which we love) and I just told him there is now one for the Peak District (which is on our list to visit), and I am watching both threads and taking in all the tips. He replied "What about Norfolk?" I said that no one loves Norfolk enough to start a thread, but that's good, it's nice and quiet which is how I like it! Everyone is either in the Peaks or the Lakes and those who aren't are probably all in St Ives eating giant pasties and scones.
Anyway, I keep looking at the Edale and Hope area, I have a colleague who visits Hope every year and says its stunning.

I would like to do a walk that slightly challenges my fear of steep, windy slopes but doesn't have me paralysed with fear and clinging round fetch's ankles.

Perhaps we need a 'Normal for Norfolk' thread, L10?

There have been loads of threads about Norfolk, or at least about the perimeter of Norfolk

Katie, try the Mam Tor to Lose Hill ridge above Castleton. You can make it as steep or gentle as you like to suit yourself.

Thanks, ff. I would need it to be gentle with an option to challenge. Mam Tor sounds familiar, I have a feeling it may have been involved in a D of E weekend when I was 15.

Should you fancy heading a little further north, come see us in the Firth. The pennine way and Langsett trail and all that is on our magnificent door step.
