fakeparkrun done, a 19 second PB over last week's inaugural! (Admittedly on a slightly different route but still incorporating the already infamous Intake Road hill.)
Once again, first finisher, first woman and first in age cat. Had to dodge a lot of dog walkers today, it was like Cruft's out there.

I’m getting nervous! We’re getting ready and I was actually thinking about wearing my club vest. Club vest for a fakey!

After spending more time then I should have working out a flattish 5km (I live in a hilly area) I did the inaugural fake parkrun there this morning. Pleasantly surprised to still be able to get a sub 22 (21:54) which is close to what I was doing at real parkrun. Have to say though - despite being a nice scenic route it feels much tougher doing it on your own!

Just wasn’t feeling it this morning. Reversed the route to see if that would spark some interest, but no. Might be something to do with a first time on the rollers for ages (although it was a very short ride) plus a shopping walk yesterday. Also, whisky 🥃 after dinner was definitely a bad idea. Won’t be doing that again before a parkrun, fake or otherwise.

Thanks swittle. A lot of my lockdown running has been at a nice relaxed enjoy the scenery pace with just a few fast blasts during the odd run so surprised by this mornings pace.

Incredibly news just in that KCAC V55 Derby Tup has smashed the Fake Paddock 40 lap Parkrun record with a run of 29 mins 53 secs. The time is a new life-time best for the Derby-born West Riding-based runner who’s better known for slow ultra events than the fast and furious world of 40 lap athletics
In a post run interview DT as he’s known to his friends said he was really delighted to put behind him the recent bitter set-back of a slightly under-cooked fruitcake, before adding that he’d not thought sub-30 was possible on the testing Paddock course with its brutal 10 feet per lap scent, especially under such hot conditions as today’s
