I've run Polkemmet a couple of times, early on. From the mud then in the first part of the lap, I'd reckon considerably muddy. Not quite Plean muddy. It's flat mud, at least.

Flat mud, loving that Dvorak :)

May pass on that this week, and go somewhere a with a bit more tarmac. Will see how I feel Sat morning.

Kelly - just to add to Kev's helpful post from my perspective as one of the Fell Foot core team. The car parking charges in that old news article still apply. In practice though, the NT aren't overly harsh about enforcing the time limits so you don't need to worry about arriving early and taking a long time to finish - regardless of the time on the ticket, they tend to treat you as though you'd parked at 9. Be aware that it's a cash only machine - there's usually staff on hand if you need change. Parking is free for NT members and volunteers so if you're bringing any non-runners who may like to help out, you can avoid the charge (be quick though - I think the roster is nearly full)

Trail shoes will be a good call though we are on the winter course so you could, at a push, get away with roads. It's four laps and narrow in places with some two way running so no dogs or buggies please (don't know if that's a concern for you but....). I'll be doing course set-up early doors and may be part of the finish team but am hoping to be fit enough to have a run. I hope to see you there; I'll try to remember a Fetch buff or something so you can identify me - feel free to do likewise if you'd like to say hello.

PK, like Dvorak I would predict considerable mud. Go before midgee season though so you can actually concentrate on the pre run briefing.

I'm still wondering where to go tomorrow in the Glasgow area. Maybe a first visit to Queens Park.

The Hills DoP, the Hills. I did the inaugural QP one, which was my last parkrun outing, but I knew what I was getting into :)

Kids footie is now finished so was hoping for some tourism, but I've done all the Glasgow (and ish) ones, so was venturing out a bit.

I might go out and run Levengrove, but that said I may just stay home and run Pollok or Victoria (not done the latter in ages).

It might be too far (but it is surprisingly quick to get to) but Lochore Meadows is a cracker (and I'm well overdue a revisit). Part tarmac and part hard paths, with a woodland section. And fairly flat. (If windy tomorrow, pretty exposed though.)

That's a good shout. It's further that I can do tomorrow, but I really like the look of that. Not done a one lapper before. Defo keep that one in mind for another day. 👍

And something else, if you're looking for letters, the West and Central Scotland is not abundant with letters, mostly P, D, L or G!!

Not even. Any good for Scrabble. 😁
