Away for the weekend in Godshill, Fordingbridge. Looking for the fastest parkrun in the area, any advice? I’m guessing at Salisbury or Brokenhurst (Poole and Southampton might be a bit far but look quicker)

I've done three local ones. Salisbury is quick in theory, but can be quite congested for overtaking. I ran comparatively quickly at Moors Valley but it is variable under foot. It's significantly faster than Brockenhurst though IMO.

Thanks. I’ve done Mole Valley and Bournemouth so going to try a new one. If I can’t get quick then I’ll just go for picturesque instead.

Just checked travel times and it looks like Southampton is only 8 minutes more than Brokenhurst! It’s really busy but looks super-fast.

I've done Brockenhurst but the summer course. On grass and round a rugby pitch. Can't recommend it tbh.
Southampton is in a nice place but it's hilly. I've done the half on the same route twice.

Has anyone done The Pastures in Alnwick, Northumberland? I know it is partly on grass but are trail shoes required or would roads be OK?

I am in Poole Saturday about 6mins drive from Upton House so will pop in there. I think that's got hills by the sounds of it..

Burgess park or Southwark park for a pre VLM easy run? Both look to be within about a mile of where I am staying
