Thanks, I've started working on it over the summer but find myself tweaking it slightly every couple of weeks.

My highest finishes (a couple of 2nds) are not among my fastest times.

A couple of years ago I managed to be first female finisher for nine weeks in a row. On the tenth week, I was only third female finisher. With a massive lifetime PB :-o

Position in parkrun is a bit random. Very much depends who turns up. Think I've had a couple of 4ths. Oh, I just checked. A 3rd once. Ooh! 30s quicker the following week was 7th. And this was still 30s slower than my PB. Which was a 9th in 2011 when I first did it. Exact same time 2 years later was 23rd! Back when Edinburgh had 200 odd participants. Closer to 700 or 800 now! :-) G

My only first finishes were achieved with my 12th, 25th, 67th and 78th fastest times. Only 2 of my first finishes rank in the top 10 fastest times at those events. My fastest times overall were only good enough for 5th, 11th, 4th, 9th and 5th.
There is one event that I always check as it is a lovely course. I probably would have been first finisher 65 out of their 73 events, except for the day I went and was 2nd - all depends who shows up

I've had a few first finishes in the early days of Harrogate. I very occassionally get first at Fountains but do feature on the "podium" a bit - the advantage of being an old lady who can run at a reasonable pace :)

What parkrun has the widest start? I ask as I have just watched a video of Alness and it must be a contender

I think everyone might be on the start line! Oddly it also has a contender for narrowest parkrun path; and quite possibly most exposed section, and coldest.

Potentially, the parkrun on Crosby beach has a 'start line' of well over 200 yards in length; the tide goes out a good deal further at times. This may be stretching the concept of 'start line' a little!

From experience, Crosby beach, from its location can be very bleak, windy and bitingly cold. Sometimes, the course is reversed if the wind is very strong.
