key point being missed possibly is that where there are multiple parkruns within a few miles of each other, e.g. in the London area, they are in areas which are more highly and densely populated than the north east - some of these events (Bushy & Banstead) have spawned new events due to the numbers of runners attending being too high to manage.

srfc is defending her mate so that is fair enough by the laws of internet discussion. anyway, parkruns are too important to sulk over

Fuck me what a laugh , who's sulking . What a lovely condecending piece of tripe TMW . Sorry points being missed TMW ? did you read the posts ? what are you on about . who missed what FFS. Nobody need defending because nobody was being attacked as far as i can see . If people don't like honest debate and here other opinions then really just don't engage. Rob made his point of view and i and DD agreed to some extent then went on to discus other parkrun option- but thats just us giving our opinions - big deal. We are all North East Runners, , all park runners ( and volunteers) and have running and park runs at heart so of course if we see something about it we are going to give our opinions.

SRFC . what the heck are you on about?

i wasn't disagreeing with you flip, shame you have to swear to get your point across by the way.

i did read the posts, whilst i don't know the local issues in the North East i did make the point that there are more parkruns per square mile in the South East due to greater population density, so perhaps it's unrealistic to have as many in the north east at present. just due to simple demographics. however, having run Albert Parkrun i know there is a good groundswell of volunteers and community spirit so the more the merrier.

from what i read some people may have felt they were being attacked for not sharing the opinion of you and your mates. maybe it's just your slightly aggressive posting style, i am sure you're all hugs and smiles in real life.
