I would quite like to die eventually in perfect health. Well, you know what I mean.

Didn't it used to be the proud boast of the English penal system that no man was executed except he was fit to do so?

Did you have one or both eyes done DT? When I asked the optician she said my brain would get confused by having such differing prescriptions - i.e one eye not having any short sight due to the surgery and the other being around -9. I’m a bit sceptical about that being an issue. Your optician is right Fragile Do Not Bend I had to get my other eye done because if this. Right eye had perfect vision but left was -10. The brain can cope with a small difference but not that much. |

Thanks DQ - so they’ll do the other eye even if there’s no cataract? I assumed they wouldn’t operate on a “healthy” eye.

I thought probably they would do the one with the cataract and I would continue to wear a contact lens in the other eye. I know I can manage ok for short periods of time at least wearing just one contact lens because I’ve tried it. Not driving obviously but moving about the house and such. |

I would think yes Frag. I got the op in my right eye because of glaucoma not cataract, though the op is the same. My left eye was perfectly healthy.

I managed initially with contact just in left eye but optician wasn't happy me wearing it all day, every day as I couldn't cope with glasses with just one strong lense.

I’ve been wearing contact lenses all day every day for over 40 years
