Was out and about the other day and we saw a group of people outside a pub all in shell suits looking like it was a themed thing, looked at my partner and said "I bet at least one of them didn't have to go out and buy a costume"

I used to get regular comments from teenagers: OMG great vintage belt/jacket/sweater/whatever... Where did you buy it? Me: shop name...
Them: huh? Me: yeah, in the 70s/80s that is what they sold...

My older brother had a Afghan, plus beige cowboy boots, AND he used to split the seams of his, already flared, jeans and sew a different coloured material into the gaps.
I just had long hair and a leather jacket, I chickened out.

I used to sew inserts into my already huge flared jeans, which also were covered with patches and sewn on badges. No leather jacket for me as I had a denim one, also covered with sewn on badges and studs on the back. Statutory long hair too.
