Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just got home from my mammogram appointment. All done very efficiently in a mobile unit in the local co-op car park. My first mammogram had been in 2018 so I don’t think I was overdue for one.

Yay for the power of Fetch :)

I guess there isn’t a much of a mammogram backlog here as I got my letter six weeks or so after my birthday and there was only a month’s wait for an appointment.

Round here most had actually had their first a month or so before 50th so about a 14month delay by that.

I have been waiting for an urgent one since January 2020!
I am assuming I haven't got breast cancer as I am still alive and the pea disappeared on its own...
All further screening was cancelled by the NHS because of CoVid and me having, according to them, less than 5 years life expectancy because I have the breast cancer gene 🙄

Not too worried, as, like Vrap, I am confident in my abity to spot stuff self examining, which I have done monthly for most of my adult life...

That's a long time to wait, Hanneke. At least you can be confident in your own ability to pick up anything by self checking. I think I would be able to spot something in myself too. Glad that the screening programmes are starting again though.
