If over 50's are/were so good it's a good job I didn't start racing till I was 55! Quality must have been dropping off for I could win my age category over most distances up to marathon though I didn't run 5K till I was 75. 22.24 was good enough to take the BMAF Championship that year (2007) but the the M80 winner was hot on my heels only 10 seconds behind!

I once came 101st (out of 103) in a race. The man behind me got a trophy for winning his age group - M70. I was very annoyed by that at the time.

I once came last in a race - I didn't care. Most others did the race as 3 people relay, I did the whole thing and was sent the wrong way at one point by the Marshall.
It was a great race, very hilly (3 molehills including box hill) and I had a blast

I once came last in a 56 mile race by about half an hour even though I was in the first of two waves to start. Everyone who started an hour later (including Trin) overtook me!
I hated the whole thing and as a result decided to give up running for good. That was in 2012. I may have run since then.

I once came DFL in a Coastal Trails marathon even after setting off an hour ahead of the official start. I didn't find a party at the back, it was shite.

What does DFL stand for? D - Dead, L- Last? Might I regret asking what the F-in DFL stands for?!
I've jogged at the back of a race and finished last before. Usually the best chat, I've found!
Tricialitt was last finished at Cateran a couple weeks ago and got a massive cheer over the line. I think she'd had a pretty good time with the sweepers and other runners too. We chatted near the start. Nearly 15 hours for the 55 miles and 6000ft. Respect! G

I was quite upset in my race a couple of weeks ago. I ran the whole way round with the tail runner and as we came onto the track at the end I had to overtake an injured person who the tail then stayed with.
