Those old programmes shaped our lives didn’t they. I remember my mum having a thing about one of the docs in Emergency Ward 10, as well as Cookie(?) from 77 Sunset Strip *clicks fingers*. Sunday evening was always Sing Something Simple.....

Oh yes, I can remember listening to the Cliff Adams singers on "Sing something simple" on a Sunday as well as Two Way Family Favourites.
As well as Emergency Ward 10 on the tele, who remembers No Hiding Place.

Blimey, that brings back memories... car journeys with Sing Something Simple on the radio and my step-dad smoking Kensitas as he drove us back from visits to various relatives.

My sister and I had to do the washing up on Sunday evenings and we would do it as quickly as possible so we were finished before SSS started

I quite got to like SSS in its final years, but didn't when my parents had it on.

I hated that boring old-fashioned stuff, I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to listen to it. Sing Something Simple? Nah, sing something complicated.

My grandmother used to love Z cars. We all knew it was no use ringing her up if it was on. And of course in those days you'd only ever ring people up after 6pm, on the cheap rate.
