I’ve just been for a walk with some friends. It was about 4.25 miles and strangely, my legs feel more tired now than had I just run a 10k!

Walking is definitely harder work than running.

I’ve just played 90 minutes or so of tennis. Definitely easier than a twenty minute run.

I ran four miles last night with a pal who wanted to run at 110 to 115 bpm. It was hellish. I couldn’t match fast enough to keep up but running was agony. My quads are mangled today. Mind wearing a six year old pair of Inov8 Mudclaw 333 probably didn’t help

Cycling easier than walking.
Walking easier than running.
For me.

I tend to think of walking as nothing (though not sufficiently "nothing" for me not to measure and log it) and got caught out yesterday when I walked a bit over nine miles in two outings in the morning then just had a snacky lunch before going out on a bike ride. If I'd run nine miles I'd have had a Magnum as soon as I finished and then a substantial main course, but the walking just didn't register.

FR, it's "normal", as in the default setting, to start to lose strength (and muscle mass) in your forties and beyond unless you take active steps to avoid it. I'm very much of the view that time spent stretching, foam-rollering, and doing "mobilisation" exercises would be better spent under a barbell.

My arms are pitiful after being told to basically not lift anything heavy for 12 weeks post surgeries. I’m considering weight training for the first time ever in my life :-O
