GlennR - the waste of resources is rather more in the vast amonts spent treating preventable diseases than in relatively trivial sums invested in trying to find the causes. Of course applying knowledge in the effective prevention of disease is the really tricky bit.

Some really interesting stuff being discussed, in amongst the liveliness!! Vrap, please write that blog on osteoporosis.....unless you have already and I've missed it. I'm booked for a DEXA scan on Tuesday, I'm only just 50, but I'm a higher risk factor due to a number of reasons. I have to confess that I'm irrationally anxious of the outcome.

In fairness though I think that words are just invented these days to suit the current purpose. (Not that this is new because Shakespeare invented many words).
