I find it difficult to get excited by the Paralympics, I consider that to be a personal character flaw on my part though.

I was lucky enough to get a ticket in the main stadium one evening for the Paralympics in 2012. It was the night Oscar Pistorius lost to the Brazilian guy and David Weir won the 5000m. The atmosphere was incredible.

I will happily sit and watch, like I will with almost any sport (save golf, tennis and formula 1, formula one is the worst port on the planet, rugby union overwrought, portentous, bombast is becoming a pet hate), but much like the stuff that has just finished, the hours are all wrong, so if I am sitting here, I will see it, if not, I won't.

My younger daughter is participating (if you didn't already spot it), so I will probably be inundating you with news. At 2 or 3 am. Assuming Ch4 has it on.

That’s a great lineup from C4. I will watch at least the highlights every night.
Good luck to your daughter Um

Also good that they’ve got Claire Balding and JJ Chalmers, amongst others. Freelance is the way to go!
