My son does race walking, and represented England at school level but has sadly lost a bit of interest since lockdown. He's still training though and banged out 7.36 in a mile race on Wednesday evening. I could keep up with him (running!), but it would be at effort level. He's hoping to go to York university next month, results permitting, so won't be far from the national centre in Leeds. I saw that Kate French can do an 18 minute parkrun. I'd love to think this would be Callum Hawkin's year in the marathon. Go Callum. |

I once shared a flat with Tim Berrett amongst others, who later went on to represent Canada (the UK had some rather good race walkers at the time and he changed allegiance) in race walking, a five-time Olympian. He had a Nike shoe contract; you should've seen his wardrobe, stacked with shoes! |

Technically I was in the same race as Mo Farah in the World half marathon in Cardiff in 2016, but I think he had finished before my wave started.

I did a 5k fun run with Mo. On zwift. Got a selfie and all. Then zwift crashed so I didn’t get to beat him. |

Women's Marathon started at 22:00 BST; showing on BBC iPlayer. Quite shaded as far as I've seen.

I beat MRS Farah at the great north run a few years back. She ran something pretty respectable from memory. 1.45-1.48 something like.
