Go Sharkie!
Enormous newt for me today. Handed in keys and pass and left my job after just over thirteen years. Looking forward to future career ventures after a bit of a holiday.

Wow! Another mega-newt. Go Ness
I haven't worked at a weekend for two years, but I shall be coming into work tomorrow because I've been so busy keeping on top of the urgent stuff that over a period of four days I've built up a surreal backlog of stuff that's merely important. But that's not in the spirit of newtism.

How apt. I'm reading a textbook about positive emotions, and there's a chapter on happiness. One section asks if it's possible to become happier, they discuss a study where they asked people to track positive changes in their lives over 12 weeks. They found that changes involving beginning new activities (like pursuing an important new goal) resulted in bigger and longer-lasting increases in happiness compared with changes which happened TO them circumstantially. Then they go on to talk about studies involving acts of kindness or recording gratitude. Maybe the last bit is also encompassed by newts?
