Even if you tie a route to the training run, it still uses the raw data from your imported file to compile the stats and to draw the map. So you're free to do what you're suggesting, if I've understood you right.

Is it just me, or does the pre-selection of an activity type (run / swim / bike) etc not do anything? Each time I've imported, whether it was a ride or a run, it has selected "running - general" as the activity type.

Could just be me - computers hate me.

Remembering the flattening settings shouldn't be so hard. There was quite a bit of variation between watches, so I figured it might be good just to start with the raw data, and work from there.

I would like to look at ways to make use of some better stats to flatten the data. For example, on a run where I'm doing a fairly consistent speed, I can measure the amount of variation in the raw data and use that as a parameter to control the amount of flattening.

It would be quite nice to have some indicator of how much you've flattened it. At the moment, you keep clicking until you've got it where you wanted, but you have to count the clicks. And you can't unflatten, either, which is why counting is necessary (so you can click one less time after resetting).

I think I'm actually saying 2 separate things:
1. an indicator for how flattened it is
2. an unflatten option too.

You can manage without 2 if you've got 1.

Daft question, but does all this only work on garmin imported data? So if I manually upload splits and so on it doesn't work?

Couple of bugs...

1) Under Kit list it shows as 0 miles for all training types
2) For items on the RHS, when I hover over the i, the text disappears off the side of the window (I don't have my windows maximised but have about 3/4 inch space to the side of the fetch content)
3) As already mentioned, data extends above the graph so can't see the peak values

And Mr Fetch, if you want some obscure data to try I use a foot pod during my aerobics classes!

Think the revamp is fantastic - top work!

However, the sessions I've imported so far have gone directly to the glasses view meaning I've had to go into edit straight away to add further details (something I do for most sessions) - could an option to go to edit view be added to the uploading page to cut these steps out?

I've added the bugs and requests into the thread header, just to help avoid repeat reports.

In general, I'm very pleased with the feedback :-)

Larkim - which method of file import are you using? TCX/GPX/FIT/plugin etc?

Ruth - it can only do the breakdowns based on the detailed stuff that you get in imported files. Sorry :-/

Westmoors - will try to move the information markers inland a bit, but anywhere in the title bar will make the info pop up. Yes please to the obscure data - can you send it to ian AT fetcheveryone.com with a little cover note explaining what it is.

Duck Runner - part of what the 'glasses' view does is give the system time to retrieve the accurate elevation profile from the third party service. Will stick with including the extra step for now.

Hmmm. Not quite sure I like this new view. The graph at the top of the screen looks WAY too big and a bit gaudy.

The shrinking of the route window and the lack of auto-saving the route might cause some problems as well.

What happens if the "route" isn't autosaved? Will it vanish at some point. One of the most useful things I found with the Old view was that you got a smallish window with the route, which is most important for me (being a mud-loving non-tarmac fairy) and you could always click on the link, in the training log view to give you a bigger window in which to view the route.

Seems like the most useful thing for me has now gone.

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
1) the off- and on-able graph lines in the top graph.
2) the split breaker. No longer does it show your split times in hard-to-work-out seconds, and the data table beneath it should also be useful.
3) cadence and power graphs for those that record it
4) a few nods to the different requirements of swim/bike/run - colour coded graphs, no ascent/descent for swims, more appropriate split options for swims.
5) works with no lat/lng data in your file - good for turbo, treadmill, pool swims
6) no automatic saving of route e.g. "Imported from your Toaster - 2014-02-10" - but you can name & save route with one click if it's special. If you play Conquercise or Fetchpoint, you don't have to do ANYTHING differently. Reports of a few bugs in Fetchpoint as a result, I'm working on those.
7) the ground work for changing the top graph into a javascript-based one that will integrate directly with the map slider, and show a tooltip for wherever you are on the graph. Playing with that in dev.
8) reclaiming notes field for notes. Still captures basic split information, but pace/hr bands etc now in their own graphs. Similar updates to user profiles on the cards so you can see how others are training (but expect it to be restrictable by the owner).
9) Some cute little icons for the weather / conditions. If you always leave these options as 'perfect', 'still' and 'none' then you won't see anything. Think of it as a way of capturing conditions that might have had an impact on your run.
10) Little blue (i)'s that give a bit more information about each of the sections.
11) When you import from file, you can now pre-choose sport - and rather than being taken to the 'edit' screen, you're taken to the 'view' aka the 'glasses' view.
12) Some folks were concerned that watch elevation data gets ignored. This is on purpose - GPS-based elevation data is notoriously inaccurate. When you're taken to the glasses view, elevation profile should pop up after a few seconds, and the ascent/descent likewise. If it doesn't happen, try refreshing the page.

REPORTED BUGS:
1) Westmoors - kit reporting 0 miles.
2) Some issues with the information popups being obscured on RHS of browser window.
3) Some lines extend above top of graph, so peaks are missing.
4) Larkim - choice of sport is being ignored.
5) Ascent/descent not showing on 'list view' nor in weekly graphs.

REQUESTS:
1) Indicator of 'amount of flattening' flattening.
2) Option to reduce flattening (without having to go via reset)
3) Remember flattening setting
4) Option to show paceband, HR band graphs etc as table of data rather than graph.
