Cool. I didn't have an F2, but I had an F1 second hand off eBay, and the 3 just feels so much more professionally done.

Flanker, not sure about that; there were one or two things like retrieving your time zone from your phone which were mentioned in the beta but not the 4.9 release.

Thinking of getting the epix
Currently have the 920 which I love apart from not being able to charge on ultras. Just after I got it they announced the F3 so I was real to annoyed as I would have waited for that had I known. Now thinking Epix as you can charge on the run and like the look of the maps (not that I will use them much but given how navigationally challenged I am they could be invaluable)

Anyone comment on the Epix? And issues?

Anyone got any discount codes for the usual places? Thanks

Guess who's been and bought an Epix? :-D (no, not me!)

F3 is an awesome piece of kit Gromit. Just make sure you update the firmware, GPS firmware and display firmware as soon as you can. Makes a real difference to features and performance.

I've been running on the Beta firmware cycle for a few months now and it's been more stable than most production garmin firmware!

oooops., thanks to flanker for the tip on getting a price match at go outdoors and they knock 10% off too. Was able to pick it up and not need to pay post.

Interestingly it had absolutely no charge which was unusual so didn't get to play with it last night

If any F3 user is thinking of trying the 6.72 beta, I'd avoid it. I just measured a 7 mile street loop as over 8!!

OK, ignore that. It was a case of muppet

I'd upgraded from the live 6.5 because of the battery drain issue (53% - flat in 9 hrs with 8.5 in standby). However in my last run when I reapplied it wasn't going to last the run I put in in Ultratrac mode. And guess what I forgot to do afterwards...

Molesy *pompoms*
Thinking of going for one of these and wondered whether anyone had used the navigation facilities on it? Is it possible to load a route to it and follow it sensibly?
