I was going to say that the huge tsunami in the Indian Ocean occurred at the same time as that heatwave. Which, it turns out, is absolute rubbish because the tsunami happened in December 2004.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the summer of 2003 was the summer, Mr Ness and I went over to Mallorca and did our PADI open water scuba diving training. It meant we spent two days of the holiday in a classroom learning stuff to be able to pass the course but it was worth it! 😁
