Boiler being serviced. We've discussed the value of turning down the boiler to save money (not a combi boiler, don't know if that's relevant) but it seems it's not really worth it. However turning down the hot water by a few degrees will save money and we probably won't notice.

Well, that's annoying. The mechanic has done a pre-check inspection on one of the ball joints and reckons there is excessive play which will cause a failure. When I had it serviced in late July by Mercedes they said the suspension and steering were all fine in their little video. However, it is too late to get it in with them, so I am going to get the work done. What choice do I have? He can't get the part today, so it's going back in on Wednesday next week. I wasn't expecting anything would need doing.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
